“Worry is useless! God is merciful and will hear your prayer.” Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, (Padre Pio), 1989-1968, had a lot of great advice for us. Often called the greatest mystic of the 20th century,” Saint Padre Pio counseled us to “Pray, Hope, and Don’t Worry!” A humble, Italian priest, blessed by God in many ways, Saint Padre Pio was a member of the Capuchin Order of Friar’s, and a stigmatist, now venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church. On three consecutive Lenten Wednesday evenings, Fr. Christian and Fr. Gabe will make a presentation to the parish following the 6:00 p.m. Mass, on one of the aspects of Padre Pio’s iconic quote.
On February 24th “Pray” by Fr. Christian. On March 3rd, “Hope,” by Fr. Gabe; and on March 10th, “Don’t Worry,” by Fr. Christian. These words from the great Saint have profound meaning for us in 2021 especially given the circumstances of the past year. The Masses and the presentations to follow will be livestreamed but it is hoped that those who are able, will join us in-person. “Prayer is the best weapon we have. It is the key to God’s heart,” – Saint Padre Pio
