"I have been here in the capacity of pastor at Our Lady of Guadalupe for 9 years. It has been a great joy for me to be here serving God’s people. Our Lady has been a place of growth and learning for me. My greatest joy as a priest has been offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and bringing Christ’s pardon and peace in the sacrament of Confession. I strive to assist people in growing in deeper relationship with the Lord.
I converted to the Catholic faith in 2001 at St. James Parish here in St. Joseph. I am a graduate of St. Joseph Christian School and Benedictine College with a degree in History. I attended seminary college at Conception Seminary and later did my theological studies at Kenrick Seminary in St. Louis, MO. Prior to being pastor at Our Lady, I served as associate pastor at St. Elizabeth Parish in Kansas City and Administrator of Our Lady of Lourdes in Harrisonville, MO.
I enjoy reading, movies, food, walking and travel. I have 4 siblings, two sisters and two brothers. I have a pet pug named Chloe. My father and mother live here in town and can be seen frequently here at Our Lady. They have been a great source of support in my priestly ministry.
A couple of passages from Sacred Scripture that are inspiring to me and act as guiding principles: “Where sin abounds, grace abounds all the more.” (Romans 5:20) This means to me that the good always prevails over evil.
I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me. Therefore, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and contraints, for the sake of Christ, for when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10) - I value vulnerability and not being afraid of showing weakness. I realize that I don’t have to be a “perfect” priest but at least a good priest. Jesus will make up for my deficiencies."
